Hey guys! My name is Leigha, better known as the Foodie of this awesome page!! Let’s just start by saying…I LOVE FOOD!!! I am always open to trying new things, and that is where my love for cooking comes from!
I have been eating paleo for about 3 years now (with some goodies thrown in from time to time for balance!). I have hypothyroidism, endometriosis and kidney stones, and when conventional medicine failed to help it left me desperate for a different option. ENTER PALEO!!!! I read a little book called It Starts With Food
by Melissa and Dallas Hartwig about the Whole30 program and the rest is history! When I first started, it wasn’t easy and I missed a lot of the old things I could eat before. This led me to make things interesting in the kitchen so I wouldn’t get bored with what I was eating. I’m not the kind of person who can eat the same things from day to day (I tried that back in the day and it made me not want to eat grilled chicken, steamed broccoli, or brown rice for a good while!!). I believe the key to adopting a new eating lifestyle is being prepared and keeping things fun 😊 and that’s what I want to help you guys with!!
I studied Biology in college, but through this lifestyle I have found a new love in functional medicine and learning more about how the body works and what we need to function on a great level! I would love to share with you guys as I learn more and more!!
Side note: I am not a professional chef and I fail in the kitchen more than I like to admit. I’m just a regular gal cooking (mostly) yummy food and sharing it with my friends (YOU)!
